Guest guest
When you say neuropathy, do you by chance mean peripheral neuropathy? I have the problem of suddenly waking up in the middle of the night with intensely itching/tingling fingers or toes. It may be only my thumb, or it could be all the fingers on one hand. Or it could be one toe or my whole foot. It's so intense it wakes me up, and the only solution is to get up and scratch the area till it's almost raw, or put ice on it till it's numb. It doesn't hurt, it's just so intense it has to be dealt with right then. A doctor told me this was peripheral neuropathy and offered to run thousands of dollars in tests. I asked him what the result of that would be. He said "you'll have a diagnosis." And then what? Probably some expensive drug, with lots of side effects. So is this something ALA would help? I don't know whether it relates to my thyroid issues or not--I've had both problems for years. Peggy Re: ALA dosing question ALA is a wonderful antioxidant! Guest guest
For the treatment of gout you can use Cherry Juice Extract in capsules as often as needed and this keeps it away. All you need to take are a few capsules a day and if you have an attack you take 2 them every few hours and it goes away quickly.I had no idea that Peripheral Neuropathy is what I think I have. I started taking ALA about two months ago in a low dose but I've now increased it to 600 mg SR and the pain in the middle of the the night has gone away. I'm also on 13 different meds, and have addisons, hypo, gout, gerd, andused to have hashi's.
