Guest guest
From talking with Birrdyy on the adrenal group, we were concerned with my bodies ability to actually absorb the iron and transfer it to storage <ferritin>. TIBC is the bodies ability to transfer the iron from the free form to ferritin. Mine was 278 <range 250-450> the lower the number the less likely your body is to put it into storage. It has to do with the protein transferrin. Here is a site that may explain it a bit better. http://www.labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/tibc/test.html All of it confuses me honestly. I know I need to get my ferritin up but not really sure how to do that if I can't take iron Kitty To: RT3_T3 Sent: Tue, April 27, 2010 9:06:55 PMSubject: Re: Candida, iron and lactoferrin Hi Kitty,Trying to learn here. My ferritin is low, too. If you don't mind my asking, why is it that you can't supplement iron? I'm wondering if I shouldn't? What is TIBC?Thanks.> >> > Hi everyone,> > > > I'm struggeling with rt3, adrenal, and iron defficiency.> > I'm currentily addressing the iron first but my candida flares up when I take a pill or Floradix. I read in the archive that lactoferrin may be a solution.> > For those with the same problem, did you use lactoferrin and take iron at the same time?
