Guest guest
Hi, My doctor told me to go to Quest Labs. They seem pretty reliable. The first time they found I was positive for Mycoplasma Pneumoniae. The next time they found positive Micoplasma Pneumoniae antibodies and then this last time, they found more Micoplasma Pneumoniae. Next time, I am going to ask them to test for Clamydia Pneumoniae. There are so many kinds. I don't know the names of any specific tests, but now that you've brought it up, I will inquire. Thank you, Dolores & Mike evanesce_amy <Evanesce@...> wrote: Hello. Can anyone recommend a reliable lab service to obtain a test for Mycoplasma Antigen PRC? I do know about the TARCI test in Gaithersburg, MD. I believe there are also other labs, but I don't know names, or have any reputation information for them. Please forgive any dumb questions. I've read books, done some research, understand some basics, but I'm still very ignorant about so much. Amy --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals? Guest guest
Hi & thank you for your reply. Maybe not the same thing, but I received a list from MycoplasmaRegistry ( group) which was very good. My question was because I was reading from other groups that TARCI was the *only* lab for reliable testing because of the way they conduct the test (ELISA based & it takes several weeks to complete the test). I guess I was putting out the question to learn of any varying opinions for reputation. I had the TARCI test (positive), but my doctor would like a retest somewhere else. I will probably use Quest or Lab Corp. .... but it's just that I've had some brainwashing that the regular labs are notorious for giving false negatives. Guest guest
Hi Amy,i There is one person that posts onthe www.roadback.org site who might be able to help you especially if you suspect Lyme's disease. She is overcoming a particularly bad case of RA caused by Lyme's. If this is your case make a posting to Layne and I am sure she could help. LynneG./SD Apricot85 wrote: > Hi & thank you for your reply. Guest guest
My doctor wanted to have my insurance pay for the test. I have to say the lab technicians were confused with the order, but in the end my Mycoplasma results came back high. the Mycoplasma IgG AB (eia) was greater than 1.10 (actual result was 2.28). The lab could not perform all of the mycoplasma tests the doctor wanted to do, but of those at least one came back positive and explained why I have been so sick for so long.
