Guest guest
Thanks for the update Margery. I've been checking in here all day to hear any possible news of your day (and Carol's - who was having tests today too). I was afraid that you would have to wait for results - seems like we're always waiting for something........ I will continue to keep you in my prayers daily. Did they tell you how long you'd have to wait for any results? I had mine within 24 hours, but that may not be the norm. Stay strong and have faith. Thank you all for your good wishes - I took them all along with me today <smile>. I had the scan booked for 4pm at the London Clinic in Harley Street (posh place - thank goodness for medical insurance <G>). I had to have nothing to eat or drink for 5 hours beforehand, so from 11am. Got to the clinic and found that, although they were expecting me and seemed quite efficient, they had booked me in for a CT scan which I didn't need. The MRI department could see me today, but not until 5.20pm. 8-( So we hung about (Geoff had come with me), with my tummy rumbling, and since the 5pm patient hadn't arrived by 5 past 5 they took me " early " . Woo hoo. The scan itself was interesting, and no hassle at all. I lay on a long narrow couch, and was slid feet first into a tunnel. It was white inside, and brightly lit, and I didn't feel shut in at all - I think my feet stuck out at the far end and I didn't feel enclosed. I had a button to press if anything at all felt wrong, and there was a two-way radio thing so I could talk to the nurses and hear them. It got very loud, as they'd warned me, and for short spells they got me to hold my breath. Half way through, they slid me out to give me a small injection - this nurse was good at finding my veins! Then it was back into the tunnel for more loud noise and breath-holding. The whole thing lasted about 25 to 30 minutes. It really was painless and trouble-free. However I was disappointed not to get any results today - I have to wait while this consultant talks to my onc and then they'll tell me what they think. Ho hum, more waiting. Home by 8pm, very tired but comfortable. Love and hugs, Margery. ============================================ margery@... in North Herts, UK ============================================ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message.
