Hello Group

I have heard from some of you about Vit D and how is

important to adjust the ratio of D25 and D1,25.

D1,25 is active form of Vit D and is produced from D25

in kidney. It means the concentration of D1,25 and

also the reatio of D25 to D1,25 depends on fuction of

kidney.

Is there anybody can tell me how we can adjust the D

ratio by restrictiong out diet?

I am reading about Vit D and its metabolic role in the

body. Almost all of the references emphasize on

importance of Vit D in retaining calcium and phosphate

in the body, bone formation , absorption of vit A.

bone pain muscle weakness and spasm can be from vit D

deficiency. Is there any way to have a normal range of

vit D and a the same time a balanced ratio of D25 ns

D1.25?

Hi Soheila;

Go to the Roadback site and ask Mac to explain it to

you.He can do so much better that Dodo or I can.You know that if the

ratio is badly off that minerals are drawn from your bones causing

osteoporosis. You can also get a lot of info on that on the MP site. Lynne

I agree with Ken based on my experience. I noticed on my latest

vitamin D test that they've increased the reference range to 75-250

(from 25-250). So we need more and when you stop it only takes a few

weeks to go back down to low levels again.

http://www.lassesen.com/cfids/recommended_levels.htm Table 2, you are

after a 61% increase, my est from the table is that you will not. You

need at least 4000 I.u./day ongoing]
