Edema and potassium

From Liz: How's your potassium, Milena? When I get that type of edema, I need a

lot more. I feel for you. It's really miserable.

Liz or anyone who has done this,

On my last labs, my sodium and potassium both went down (Na 139 and K 4.1), due

to a stressful, snowy, icy drive to get them drawn. Since that happened, that

tells me that I still must waste both of them. (112 mcg T3, 32 mg HC)

My main issue is that I have edema everywhere. I am on 100 MEQ potassium, dosed

3x a day with meals. Do I just keep going up by 10 MEQ until the edema clears?

Also, do I continue to raise at meals or add a bedtime dose?

Thanks for any help with figuring out potassium.

My edema is still very bad but a bit less after I did this changes.I lowered the

florinef to 1/4 tab.I'm also trying to lower the HC dose again and I'm running

in the same problems like my last try, getting very cold feet and hands. It's

just all over again. My last test for potassium was 3.2 without any

supplementing.I started 4 times 400mg OTC potassium but my vertigo started

again.I had the vertigo problem when my potassium was 5.6 before starting the

florinef.I now lowered the potassium to 3 times 200OTC and will see.I will do a

new electrolytes on Wednesday ,waiting a bit of time for the changes to take

place. My joints still hurt and legs and fingers are bad.I also lowered

drastically the salt intake. When I have any results I will let you know. Sorry

to hear you are still having this issue too.I know how hurtful is and hope we

will get it better soon.

Thanks for asking and good luck with it.
