Guest guest
Hello Kate: Thanks a lot for the reply and info. I will try to get the book in Amazon. Hopefully I will be able get it prescribed. Thanks a lot . regards Lakshmanan ________________________________ From: rheumatic [mailto:rheumatic ] On Behalf Of Kate Sent: Monday, September 15, 2008 5:40 PM rheumatic Subject: rheumatic Re: seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis: Need help Hello Lakshmanan, Very sorry to hear about your wife ! A good starting point is to look on the www.roadback.org website. Here's the actual link : http://www.roadback.org/index.cfm/fuseaction/education.sub/subgroup_id/8 ..html <http://www.roadback.org/index.cfm/fuseaction/education.sub/subgroup_id/ 8.html> You will see they recommend you to read The New Arthritis Breakthrough by Henry Scammell - this is available from Amazon in the UK and USA, but I really don't know about Malaysia. This link also tells you how to request a list of doctors specializing in the AP, in your geographical area, though again I don't know whether there will be any near you. I am in the UK, and there is only 1 such doctor listed in this country. So I read the book and then gave it to my own doctor to read. She was impressed, and agreed to prescribe the antibiotic for me (it is normally prescribed for acne, so this wasn't a problem for her). If you have an open-minded doctor who you know well, this might work for you. Let us know whether you manage to get the book, as if not someone on this site may be able to help you to get it. Guest guest
Hi, Lakshmanan: Your wife might have a reactive arthritis--very common in some areas. This would require antibiotic treatments and the sooner the better the outcome. If you can have her tested for them--especially giardiasis--that would be good but not necessary. Rather, you can begin treatments immediately yourself, but consider the following: RA disease can have insidious onset--that is sort of 'creeping up' over a long period of time without an obvious starting date. AS can also have similar onset characteristics but if it is begun due to a reactive arthritis, there will be a narrow timeframe over which symptoms came on more suddenly. Important tests to perform: ESR, CRP, HLA B27. AS is the B27 disease, but can have narrow onset and it is very much like the reactive arthritis giardiasis causes, in the early stages. Good luck to You and Your wife, From: Lakshmanan.Lakshmanan@... <Lakshmanan.Lakshmanan@...> Subject: RE: rheumatic Re: seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis: Need help rheumatic Date: Monday, September 15, 2008, 3:40 AM Hello Kate: Thanks a lot for the reply and info. Guest guest
Hello Mr. : Thanks for your Response and your feedbacks. Dear Team members: We have tested the ESR Values 33mm/hr ( >20 ) and the CRP values is 20.45 mg/L ( >5) . For which the doctor said , eventhough the Rhuematic factor is negative ,still she has seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis. Are those values too high?? In addition to that, my Wife delivered in April and she had been breast feeding until July . After July, the swollen Fingers and joints as well as the pain got worse unable to sleep at night. I just met my Doctor regarding Minocin dosage. And she is very skeptical about it and asked us to take Sulfasalazine and wait for 2 more months. Could i be able to start the antibioitic now based on the FAQs in the www.rheumatic.org <BLOCKED::mhtml:{E825D5B0-2789-41D0-A564-D6198E4D272D}mid://00000096/!x- usc:http://www.rheumatic.org/> .?? regards Lakshmanan ________________________________ From: rheumatic [mailto:rheumatic ] On Behalf Of Merchant Sent: Tuesday, September 16, 2008 12:10 PM rheumatic Subject: RE: rheumatic Re: seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis: Need help Hi, Lakshmanan: Your wife might have a reactive arthritis--very common in some areas.
