Guest guest
That's interesting. My ferritin was stuck at 23 no matter what. I had 1 round of 300mg of venofer and my ferritin jumped to 196. It took about 1 1/2 hours for the bag to drain.Subject: Re: Iron IVTo: RT3_T3 Date: Wednesday, March 31, 2010, 8:22 AM My ferritin was 30-something in Dec., and after two Venofers it was 79. Here's links to posts with useful info on this: http://health. groups.yahoo. com/group/ RT3_T3/message/ 35433 http://health. groups.yahoo. com/group/ RT3_T3/message/ 35464 http://health. groups.yahoo. com/group/ RT3_T3/message/ 32581 The only caution I am aware of with Venofer is if the patient has low blood pressure. I used to have very low blood pressure; I've read that Venofer's recommendation for this is to run the IV a lot slower. My IVs now take about a half hour; back when I had low blood pressure they slowed the rate of infusion and it took over an hour to get the same dose. Same good end result, just a little longer time sitting in the IV room. I am in the U.S. I believe Venofer is available in different strengths in different countries, FYI. > > I am looking for some info on Iron IV's. If you have had some can you please tell me how many, the milligrams of each one (if you know), and your starting and ending ferritin levels.
