I don't know the answer to this, but I have the same question--so please bump

when Val returns. Thanks, Heidi

I am not Val, but here is my take on this question from what Nick has written on

his site and the answers I've found reading posts:

Temps dropping after taking a dose of t3 can indicate low cortisol, but I don't

think you *necessarily* need an increase of HC. T3 makes the adrenals work

harder -- they have to put out more cortisol to handle the t3. That is where the

temp graphing comes in. If your temp averages are showing unstable temps, I

would increase the HC. If they are stable, I would not raise just because the

temp dropped immediately after a dose. I would give my adrenal a chance to " kick

in " if it can. I've taken temps constantly before, like every hour (!!) and

sometimes it will drop after a dose, but then it goes back up by the time it's

time to take your temp at the 3 hour mark. So my averages are stable.

I think it would also depend how you feel, too. Do you feel god awful right

after the t3 dose? Or do you feel okay and are just noticing the temp drop

because you took your temperature? If it's god awful, that might indicate the

need for more HC.

I know one lady wrote about her temps dropping like this and Val said if you do

the temp graphing every 3 hours, it will catch these dips and show unstable

temps.

Nothing is absolute,

Spreading the same amount of T3 out in more doses of less at a time

can help your adrenals cope with it.

More HC might be needed though.

It's a sign that you need to change something!

Nick, I really respect your advice! I did this today. I did 9.3 mcg 8x and a smaller bedtime dose ( for a total of 81mcg). My temps were perfect, stable and 98.5-98.6 Unfortuntely, I feel yucky, low energy and headache. I had a b12 shot on mon. Don't know if I needed it. My dr. said it was just as easy to do the shot and see how I felt as it would be to do labs. So I did the shot expecting to "feel" something positive or to feel nothing at all. But by tues. morning I was short of breath with a racey pulse, on and off for the day and haven't felt right since.I have read it is unlikely to have adverse effects from b 12 shots, but I am wondering if that has caused me to feel "off".

I will continue to spread out the t3 because of good temps and hope the closer I get to clearence the better I will feel.

Thanks again, S
