Guest guest
I've read about glycation products that are sometimes referred to as Advanced Glycation Endproducts (AGEs). However, I've also read about glyconutrients that seem to be the same kinds of things as the AGEs. Here's a site dedicated to them: http://www.glycoscience.com. Here's a short intro: " The four major classes of biomolecules are proteins, nucleic acids, lipids (fats) and carbohydrates. For many years, scientists focused on proteins as the primary communication molecules. Early in this century, however, a theoretical mathematician at the Weisman Institute calculated the number of molecular configurations possible with protein molecules and the number of known chemical command signals needed to run the body. She concluded that there were not enough protein configurations possible to supply all the messages. Another code was required. " Then they describe glycoproteins and glycolipids. When you get to the site, start with Glyconutritionals section on the left hand side. I lack knowledge of biology and chemistry to understand all that enough to make a decision what is what here. Can anyone clarify to me if they are talking about the same things as AGE's? They say these substances are essential. If you look at studies described on that site, you'll see that the glycosubstances seem very beneficial. Thank you Roman __________________________________________________

Given the vast, vast realm of possibilities for protein formation, I'd have to guess that that conclusion is dramatically wrong. -
