Guest guest
after getting my teeth cleaned. I think on top of my heat & solar urticaria I have this angioedema and I was wondering if anyone else has it????? I think is it hereditary and that would explain why my hives never itch. I have really sever hives on my cheeks and forehead only when I am in a heated building or in front of the computer for long periods because it gets hot too. My Dr just put me on Doxephin 100mg at night and hydroxyzine 150 mg at night then zytec 10 mg once a day and zantac 300 mg twice a day. I also use aloncon ointment as needed and I did a 6 day boost with low dose prednisone last week. I am the one who is about to be fired at work becuase my employer will not accomidate my special needs and is tired of me calling in sick. I was told today to make my dr put me on short term employer disabilty or take a month off unpaid OR the next time I call in I will be fired and then I will have to FIGHT (HER WORDS) for unemployment. I am trying desperatly to get the allergist or normal dr to fill out the forms. I have a apt with a new allergist but he could not get me in til 1/22/01 and by then I will be fired for sure.. I live in a small town in Medford ORegon and my job pays well at $12.00 an hour. I know the computer really aggrivates my hives and I don't know what kind of work I can get that will pay my house payment with out using a computer!!!!!!!! The meds don't help- I have a very severe case. I frequently feel light headed, dizzy, like vomiting. The pain from the hives is crazy!! I cry from it. Anyway anyone out there know about angiodedema and or allergic reaction to latex gloves having to do with urticaria?????
Guest guest
Hi Tina. Yes, many of us also have angioedema. It is a form of deep-tissue hiving. Mine can come from pressure, like when a dentist is pressing or pinching the cheek while working on me, or carrying something heavy, or even wearing tight clothes or jewelry. I also get delayed pressure urticaria from these things, which in my case is major swelling, to the point where it is hard, with hives on top of it. I also get angio during bouts of anaphylaxis where my tongue and lips swell and my throat swells shut. Many of us also get swelling of the eyes, hands and feet. Also, some people do have an allergy to latex, which will result in hives. With the symptoms you describe, I would seek ruling out masto. Air hugs, Jackie Life is tough, but I'm tougher. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp
