Guest guest
Val has this potassium info link on the adrenals site: http://members.tripod.com/~charles_W/cortisol.html It starts off talking about cortisol but there is lots of good potassium info further down. > > I've had terrible weakness problems for the past few days, and high bp (the highest it went was 199/91, pulse 91). After reading at STTM and RT3 websites, I asked my doc yesterday for an RBC potassium test and electrolyte panel. Those tests were run this a.m., but it will take several days to get the results. So he has put me on 20 mEq K-Dur till then, as my symptoms are debilitating and fit the profile of low potassium. > > I'll get the test results at a consult next week and want to be well-informed in preparation for that. It was my research that resulted in my request for these tests in the first place, as he leans toward the problem being too much T3. I doubt that, as my symptoms don't correlate with my T3 dosing schedule--I've had the same symptoms whether I'm taking no T3 for a couple of days, or dosing every 4 hours for a couple of days. He was open to my potassium concerns and willing to order the tests at the same time he ordered tests for T3, RT3, etc. Where can I learn more about low potassium and potassium supplementation, or anything else that might explain high bp and weakness? Or does anyone here have knowledge/experience to share? > > Also, I understand that Celtic salts helps heal adrenals, and I've been taking 1/2 tsp twice a day in water. My pulse has been running in the mid-60's but suddenly today it's in the 50's. I know that taking salt can lower a high pulse. Should I stop the salt for now, since my pulse is so low? It went as low as 50 this morning. > > Peggy >
