I tend to agree with you Rita...I read this too, and had the same feeling.

There are a multitude of reasons for this condition, and while rapid weight

loss is just but one of them, and it was only a *possibility* at that, I

would be reluctant to wave someone off from having a surgery that might very

well save their life. I have CFS, and FMS, and have no idea what having this

surgery means to these conditions in the long term. So far, I seem to be

doing better. If, down the road, as you say, a problem develops as a result

of the weight loss surgery, well, I'm sure enjoying what I have of my life

that I definitely would not have had, had I not done this.

I'm sorry that Dawn is suffering so terribly. I hope she keeps it in mind

that rapid weight loss is only one possible cause of her condition. In

science, not much really is accepted as absolute, and they are finding new

things all the time. New reasons, and new cures. The same with CFS and

FMS....they have postulated all sorts of causes...but no one knows for sure.

Maybe someday they will. Life is full of possibilities and what ifs...we

can't stop our life for the " just in cases. " Make your decision to live your

life..and move forward. After all, it is just one day at a time.
