Guest guest
I think it is meant to be that high taking t3 only. Ferritin is very low. I read on the adrenals board that you wanted to taper of isocort. I would wait to I get my ferrtin up before I did that. Guest guest
I had read on a post a couple of weeks ago that, if you have mercury toxicity, you can take lactoferrin to help bind the iron and get it into your cells instead of chancing that candida will "eat" it... I may not have gotten that right. I do not know that I have candida, but I am almost off the chart on a mercury challenge test. I've ordered some lactoferrin to take with my iron. Anyone have advice or information on this? Janie H To: RT3_T3 Sent: Thu, April 8, 2010 1:54:35 AMSubject: Re: FT3/RT3 ratio I think it is meant to be that high taking t3 only. Ferritin is very low. Guest guest
Is it best to take iron in the morning an hour after thyroid? I can't seem to manage 2 doses of iron a day since I usually take the T3 in 5 doses. It's hard to time a 2nd dose of iron if I need to wait 4 hrs to take the T3 again. Also, in 2 years, my doctor has never said anything about my iron/ferritin being low. It has been between 29 & 46 in 5 labs during that time. He's very good at testing a lot of things most doctors don't or won't but then either doesn't notice or know that iron is important for the thyroid. Can you point me back to the site that I might share this information with him from? Guest guest
Does lactoferrin help to get ferritin up? My iron levels are high so I can't supplement but my ferritin is only 20 not sure how to get the iron where it belongs! Guest guest
Janie, Are you taking your T3 sublingually (under tongue)? If you take it that way more of it gets to your bloodstream and doesn't have problem with iron. I take my T3 sublingually and iron at same time for my 9am and 3pm doses. Swallow iron and Vit. C, swish mouth with water. Then I put T3 (using cynomel) under tongue and let it dissolve. It usually takes 15 min and doesn't taste like anything. It feels a little grainy. Hope this helps, Jennie ________________________________ > > To: RT3_T3 > Sent: Thu, April 8, 2010 10:56:34 PM > Subject: Re: FT3/RT3 ratio > >  I can't seem to manage 2 doses of iron a day since I usually take the T3 in 5 doses. It's hard to time a 2nd dose of iron if I need to wait 4 hrs to take the T3 again. > Janie H
Guest guest
Yes, I take Cynomel sublingually. I thought someone had said what you're saying about taking T3 & iron together OK if T3 sublingual but then someone else said no... I think Nick had said to take the 2 as turning out light at night but the one time I tried that my 1st am temp was a little lower than the previous day... If my Ferritin is still only 31 after being on iron for 3.5 months... I've been taking the Bluebonnet, 54mg. Guest guest
My B12 came back high but I had read that this could also be wrong, that it isn't what is actually available. I have been taking the 5000mcg methyl B12 for a little while now anyway as I figured it couldn't hurt anything!
