Tom,

I had included T/E2 ratio material in a post to

Alt-Support-Impotence-ASI/

I haven't responded to Phil's post yet on how to calculate T/E2

ratio..he converts.I do not convert..more about that later.

If you can open that link...scroll down until you see Table 3..

" Table 3 displays the results for changes in total androgen levels, the

total androgen-estradiol ratio, and luteinizing hormone levels. All

patients reached therapeutic levels of total androgens (defined as

testosterone plus dihydrotestosterone > 330 ng/dL). The pretreatment

average was 149.3 ng/dL and increased more than fourfold to 642.10 ng/dL

(P = .001). A striking change in the total androgen-estradiol ratio was

observed in all men; the average ratio of 5.10 ([ng/dL]/[pg/mL])

increased by a factor of greater than 3 to 17.08 (P < .002). Normal

ratios of total androgen-estradiol are defined as being between 10 to

22.[27] In this analysis the ratios are slightly higher because of the

inclusion of the dihydrotestosterone levels, which comprise a

considerable portion of the androgen pool in these men. "

Doctor Education

Hey Guys,

Okay. Just got back from visit with my Doc. The GP. Good guy but

knows

nothing about hypogonadism. (My endo, on the other hand, knows

EVERYTHING

THERE IS TO KNOW so I figured there's no chance of educating him, ergo

my

visit to GP.)

I went to him with documentation regarding T converting to E. Asked him

to

check my E levels. He started telling me that the levels of T have

nothing

to do with E. I tried telling him about the issue of aromatization. He

said this doesn't happen. T doesn't change to E. I told him my

research

indicated otherwise. Showed him article about hypogonadal men using

Arimidex to counteract aromatization. He looked at the article. Gave

me a

few " Hmmm . . . " 's and finally said, " Okay, we'll check your E levels. "

Glory to God!!!!!! Finally!!!!!!

I told him that when I first started taking AG I was like a new man but

lately I haven't been feeling all that great. I felt that aromatization

may

be the issue.

I was talking about my overall health and sense of well being. He

thought I

meant my ability to achieve an erection. I guess he thinks TRT is

primarily

for erectile purposes . . . or he assumes if one has low T that one also

has

ED. This isn't the case with me but I didn't want to jeopardize or

complicate my treatment any or really go into what low T does to a man

as a

whole organic being. I just want my T to E ratio checked.

Thanks be to God I'll find out on Tuesday what the deal is with those

numbers.

Is there any set number that E should be or a way of determining what

the

ratio should be?

Thanks for your help.

In Jesus Irrational Love,

Tom

Ok I guess I'm not quite sure of what the effects of a high or low

estradol will have. Symptoms? Is it something that definitly

should be addressed? I see my endo tuesday, and want to know if its

worth bringing up. I'm currently on depo-testosterone intermuscle

injections once every 3 weeks. My last Total level a week after my

shot was 340. I'm 25.
