Well your TSH says you are horribly hypo thyroid. That would make you tired. You probably need to start something for your thyroid. My ferritin is only 20 and I am tolerating T3 ok at this point.

Your cortisol is low early in the day. That can cause fatigue and weight loss. I had pretty significant weight loss as my cortisol got worse.

I just got more recent lab results and wanted to see what your thoughts were on this. The past week I've been feeling so extremely tired and I'm still losing weight rather quickly. TSH 10.3 uIU/mL .45-4.5Reverse T3 243 pg/mL 90-350Ferritin, Serum 44 ng/mL 13-150Triiodothyronine, free serum 3.1 pg/mL 2-4.4Thyroxine (t4) 1.12 ng/dL .82-1.77Cortisol - am 15 ug/dL range 6.2-19.4Over the past two months I had stopped t4 because I have reverse t3. I wasn't taking any t3 yet because my ferritin is low. I have gotten my ferritin up a bit (it went from 18 to 44). I'm wondering what I might need to be doing now, since I'm feeling so tired and wondering what might be going on. I had started taking isocort and then the doctor told me to stop taking it because I might be allergic to it and the desensitization shots were needed. My previous adrenal test back in December was the following:morning 5.3 morning

optimal range 7-10Midday 2.8 midday optimal range 3-6Evening 2.6 evening optimal range 2-4Night 2.6 night optimal range <1.5Thanks so much for your help.

What dosage would you start with for t3 and the frequency/time of day? Any

recommendations for the adrenals? I have isocort but not sure when/how much to

take or do you think I need something stronger like cortef?

Thanks for your advice.

Hi Val,

Do you have recommendations on how much t3 to start with and how frequently to

take it? My doctor mentioned I should be taking t3 & t4, but my understanding is

that I need to clear out the rt3.

I have attached my adrenal test results from December as well. Based on these

test results and then the lab results in the previous email below, what would

you recommend for my adrenals?

My previous adrenal test back in December was the following:

morning 5.3 morning optimal range 7-10

Midday 2.8 midday optimal range 3-6

Evening 2.6 evening optimal range 2-4

Night 2.6 night optimal range <1.5

Thanks so much for your advice.

Jan. 29, 2010 Cortisol - am 15 ug/dL range 6.2-19.4

intolwerant state the TSH will be VERY supressed. Everyone is differnt in where

their body wil tolerate T4 wiht their low iron but wiht TSH this high I would

certianly be trying some T3.,

Hi Val,

My doctor just told me not to take any t3 or t4 until I have started taking

allergy desensitization drops for my thyroid. What are your thoughts on this?

I'm not sure I understand the allergy drop idea. Also, what would be your

recommendation for starting t3? Dosage? Frequency? Isocort as well?

Dosage...frequency.

Thank you!!!

Your adrenals will need support before starting T3, As Kitty said the

adrenal group are the best people to guide you.

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Their FAQ Web site is here http://faqhelp.webs.com/

Have you checked Ferritin,, it will need to be at least 50 to start

and up at 70 before you can get to a full dose of T3.

Dosing suggestions for T3 are here

http://thyroid-rt3.com/dosing.htm

Feel free to ask questions
