Yes Mexican and I can't break them with a thin blade. Do you use your fingernail to half them? I had my husband try and his results were the same as me, a bunch of crumbs. I'll try using just fingers.

Are you using Mexican Cynomel? That's what I use and I'm able to break the pills with my fingers. Like you, when I tried to cut them I had bad results. I use my fingers to break them in half, then my fingernails to break them into quarters. Hope that helps!

Thanks, I used the finger method today and had great success. I would have never thought to use my fingers is someone had not told me

I'm on Tertroxin a tiny tiny pill & thick too. Only comes in 20mcg size. Now THAT'S a pill that is difficult to cut in half (but can be done) and impossible to cut into quarters.

My DH & both Twins are on Cymomel which is a lot bigger, thinner tab than Tertroxin AND has a score mark. Cynomel is EASY to break in half with fingers or to cut in half with pill splitter.

However you do have to make sure you line up the blade with the score mark on the tabs. Trying to cut into quarters is a lot harder though and that's when it tends to crumble. You need a steady hand, a good eye to line it up just right AND you need a sharp,clean blade on the pill cutter. Plus you need to slam the cutter quickly rather than do slow & gentle.
