Guest guest
, Why or how does low ferritin and/or cortisol suppress TSH? Have any good articles on the topic. My TSH is always very suppressed...and my cortisol levels are low...I'm on cortef 7.5/5/2.5....my doctor is slow to increase my cortef...but I'm working on him. He does have me on Naturethroid 1 Grain and Cytomel 20mcgs, so feel pretty blessed he is open to my constant encouragement to increase even if its not as rapidly as I would like. Free T4 is low, my Free T3 is high and I felt jittery/diarrhea..I still feel that T3 is not getting to the cellular level. (I look very Hypothyroid...swollen legs, dry hair, brain fog, unable to loose wt). Oh, by the way, I've been gluten/casein free for one year, and before going gf/cf I had to take quite a bit of iron to keep my ferritin in optimal range. I've been off iron for 9-10 months and my last ferritin was 100...which is a first for me. My vitamin D3 was also 109, and was previously 53. I am on half the dose of D3 presently. Maybe it is coincidence, but it could be that I am now absorbing vitamins since my gut is not as inflammed by the gluten. I am hopeful that eliminating the gluten/casein will continue to improve my health.
Guest guest
Whne the body cannot utilize thyroid as in cases of lwo ferritin or low cortisol, the pituitary is sent message to not produce TSH so thyroid will be lowered. http://www.endocrine-abstracts.org/ea/0012/ea0012p123.htm -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/
