Guest guest
Hi Val, I don't have all of my results but my Dr. emailed these results and comments to me this morning. I am currently off all of my HC and doing fairly well. Currently on 93.75mcgof Cytomel. Still have lower back pain like the T3 is not getting into all cells and some other residual symptoms. This Testosterone stuff also has me very confused. My libido is very low and the ability to build muscle is also limited. The SHBG was taken while I am on testosterone pellets equaling 150mg. I am not going to come down off of my T3 like she suggests. My temps have been good lately and I do not feel hyper at all. But, what do you make of these results?? I will post all of the levels once I recieve the lab report in the mail. I have not responded to her comments yet. She wants me to tell her what I think about everything. I just don't know what to tell her. Her comments: " Your aldosterone levels (24.3) were elevated which is consistent with being on hormones which can change the accuracy of the results. However, your T3 is way too high at 6.2. You must decrease your dose because this explains why you feel like the testosterone pellets are wearing off. The elevated T3 is going into the same pathways as the testosterone and is blocking the absorption thus raising your aldosterone, sex hormone binding globulin are elevated (111.3) which are also blocking the effectiveness of the testosterone and estrogen. " We must add back T4 to get you back on track and this will help your pellets last much longer. " Sorry I don't have the ranges but I think the SHBG range is (8-96). I also had renin tested on the these labs but she does no tcomment on those results. Could the SHGB be elevated because I am on the Testo pellets? or is there something else going on? I hardly ever feel any of the testosterone after the pellets are implanted. I also came off my DHEA because it was causing bloating. Maybe I need to add just 5mg?? I was up to 20 mg. So confused. Maybe you can help. Thanks,
Guest guest
Your aldosterone levels (24.3) were elevated To really comment on this I need YOUR lab ranes but by the usual ones this is NOT elevated. Usual is 4-31 for upright labs .Thsi si near perfect by these ranges. high SHBG means good tissue levels of T3. Over range may be binding too much testosterone but you simply need a bit more then to overcome this. I take a fairly high dose of T myself. Though I do nto feel it right aweay It is a gradual improvement. you do NOT build muscle overnight, it has taken me months to get muy muscle tone back and it si stil not where I want it butit is gettign ther ein spite of MY high T3 l3vles. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
Ok, good to know that these may be alright. I will post all of the results once I receive them in the mail. Thanks for the explanations. It's amazing how I have no faith in what my Dr. tells me and I look forward to your advice like I'm on pins and needles. I have all the faith in your recommendations! . I just hope she won't try to shut me down on my T3, and this adding T4 stuff. I don't know how I'm going to convince her that I am better now than I ever was on T4. I've got some thinking and talking to do. Thanks again! " =20 Pardon me for sorta butting in, but this controversy has been raging on musclechatroom.com, and the people there don't have legitimate research data. It's possible there is none. If that is FT3 above ... FT3=6.2 is NOT too high for T3-only therapy. However, the consistently high FT3 level caused by T3-only therapy is suspected of causing high SHBG. I have been on T3-only therapy for about 1 year (current dose 62.5 mcg/day), and I have SHBG=72 nmol/L (range 10-60). I've been debating with the folks on MCR what to do about this. The answer I've mostly seen is go on T3+T4, although some have advocated therapy with herbals like nettle extract and avena sativa. I'll post further info about this if I come across anything convincing.
