Guest guest
you think it's a ferritin issue? why would that get expressed more as I'm getting more T3 into my cells now, based on these latest labs (and also my sxs)? is it that my thyroid is suppressed (T4 and TSH) but even though I'm getting more, I'm still not getting enough T3 to my cells, and i can't do anything until my ferritin is up, so i'm living on very little thyroid hormone? if i'm taking T3 only, how does it sit in the blood and cause issues? thought that was just T4? does the ferritin issue make your temps drop after taking more T3 than you can hold? sorry if i'm asking inane questions, my brain is crazy bad. seriously. I have to say when i raised my ferritin from 6 with the iron IVs, though i know i needed my numbers up, it did ZERO for my symptoms. but then, i didn't fix my low T3, etc. then > > What you really need is more T3 btu I am afraid to tell you to raise ti > till your ferritin is up better. Guest guest
The thing is, I haven't raised my T3. I just changed to all T3, though I did go up a couple mg's, I guess, trying to match breaking up the 25mcg pill to equal the amount in the NT, as per Nick's site. But, something is making me worse being on just this T3. For real. Though, I was getting sxs BEFORE I switched to just T3, and that, I think, is the T3 getting to the cells finally and me not needing to be on so much (though I know it's a tiny amount, relative to what other folks are taking). Maybe the T4 was buffering before, too. I feel pretty screwed - like I'm on too much AND too little T3 at the same time - maybe too much for my adrenals to tolerate now more is going into my cells, and too little for my body to function because my thyroid is suppressed and there isn't enough to go around for all the things thyroid hormone does, like make my brain work! I feel like the brain stuff is part of the continuum of the myxedema coma thing. Does that make sense?? I tried to do some T3 again last night at bed and it wakes me up too early. I took a bit of a benzo, but do NOT want to have to depend on that to mask how the HC and T3 keep me awake. That is how I was doing it for a several weeks, but want to stop. I want to try and get 25mcg in my system, but apparently can't do it more than 6.25mcg at a time. HOW CAN I DOSE to get that? Or, I guess I can just take 3/4 of that at wake, 11 and 2, though then I'll be DECREASING my dose. And maybe I'll take some rhodiola and ashwaganda to help my adrenals along with the HC. My internet is going spotty, so I'm online when I can be, which is frustrating! But, please hang with me, Val. THESE FOLLOW UP QUESTIONS ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT in terms of me helping myself. My sxs feel serious. Dang, these steroids and hormones are no joke! Thanks so much! ~ Carol > > Yes T3 pools in the blood whn ferritin is low. Guest guest
fyi, to help you help (!!) - my TEMPS DROPPED after taking ONLY 6.25mg CYTOMEl from 97.7 this morning (which is lower than what I had been averaging) to 96.7. (yestereday, it did the same thing for the first time, but i took 12.5mcg). I'm not even tolerating the 6.25mg. My pulse is 81, which if I were " healthy " would be great. but, I feel internally wired, but then the hypo stuff. As I said, I feel like going on T3 somehow screwed me. The T4 was a buffer. SHOULD I go back on some?!?!??!??! Or, should I try to take teeny doses of T3 - like 1/4 the 1/4!?!?!? I can feel my adrenals getting screwed inadvertently. Oy, and I have been working so hard on them!! > > Yes T3 pools in the blood whn ferritin is low. It cannto be utilized > correctly so it sits there cause adrenal stress.
