Guest guest
No Pennsylvania. The nurse wasn't in today and so no one could tell me anything. They even said this may be an old price and may need updated. So I may call tomorrow if I have time. I had IV's in 97 which I did myself. I did 5 days in a row then once a week for 10 weeks the 5 in a row and then 10 weeks etc for 5 years! Like I said I was totally negative. Guest guest
Hi Dr Brownstein has been my doctor since I've been diagnosed with RA 11 yrs ago. I love him and he's taken me to a level I never thought I'd reach again. He's open minded and listens and always has a suggestion. The problem is he's not taking any new patients presently, but you can see his associates. There are two of them: Dr Neusbaum and Dr Ing. (not sure of spelling) There are both about 5 months out from new patients. Judy PS Everything at CHM is out of pocket just so you know. In a message dated 6/30/2010 2:29:15 P.M. Guest guest
I missed some of the emails on this subject b/c we were away, but I'm thinking that there should be some people in our group that go to general practioners or internists here in MI that do either know of or are open to the AP and who would at least give a script. Did I miss all of that part of the conversations? Just an idea. I know that my internist who diagnosed me and then recommended a rheumy way back when did not entertain my choice to go on the antibiotics. He said I needed something like " Remecade " (11 yrs ago) and said AP would not work. Sadly, I liked him as a regular doctor but had to leave him b/c our beliefs clashed so much. My husband stills goes to him. That's the tough part, and yes, Center for Holistic Medicine is pretty expensive, especially for the initial visit. After that, it's just the fee plus any supps, etc. you buy. Good luck on finding someone. I will keep this all in mind and if I hear of anyone, will absolutely post. Unfortunately doctors like Brownstein are out of my reach because of the out of pocket expense. Seems my insurance only pays for the mediocre ones who want to shut you up by stuffing drugs down your throat. I did check Dr. Brownstein out about a year ago and he does seem great but when I heard how much the office visit was, sadly I had to pass. It sucks being sick with limited finances. Can't get to see who you really need to. > > > > Hey Jazz, > > > > > > > > I pay out of pocket for Doc Goldstein and is worth every penny. Guest guest
I go to Dr. Nebbeling in Lansing. He is on St. ph Hwy, not at the address mentioned, but the phone # is correct. He is less expensive than Dr. Brownstein and the Center for Holistic Medicine. He did require me to do 10 IVs before he would prescribe the oral, at 50 dollars each. So it was a 500 dollar commitment upfront, and then he has prescribed me oral medication for the past several years, and I just call the office for refills. More than worth it for having my life back! Save up if you must; it is worth the sacrifice and commitment! Guest guest
Just an aside: Insurance was willing to pay 12,000 dollars *per month* for IVIG, but not 500 once for this... I think of this CONSTANTLY as the debate over rising health care costs plays itself out in Washington. Imagine if everyone on IVIG and biologics were on minocycline instead....
