Guest guest
Can you take NT when you have a reverse T3 problem? Would that correct it? My reverse T3 is 306TSH 1.370 Range 0.450-4.500 > T4 8.1 Range: 4.5-12.0 > Reverse T3 306 Range; 90-350 > TBO 10 Range 0-34 > Free T3 2.6 Range 2.0-4.4 > well i ordered NT (used to use armour) from a pharmacy where i did not need script...and sometimes i would tell my doctor i needed more dose for myself and used that...i built a stockpile for my kids...and now my doctor does what i ask..like others i have had to educate them My doctor took a year to diagnose my thyroid problem (during which time I was given tranquilisers! !) and I found out about my RT3 problem on my own, he didn't seem to know about it. This was my GP. We have since parted company and I self treat. If I had done this in the beginning I would have saved myself a lot of trouble because most doctors don't know much about the finer points of thyroid disease, even endos. I've been to see two specialists who were not much good either.I wish I had discovered the Internet Yahoo Health forums when I was diagnosed because I would have saved myself a lot of time with doctors. I have a new nice GP who keeps an eye on me, but is not involved in my thyroid treatment. Guest guest
You have to take t3 only as any t4 you take (and there is t4 in NT) will keep turning into rt3. With these labs, unless you have a very special and open minded endo, he is going to tell you are " fine " and everything is " normal. " But you do have a rt3 problem based on these labs. Guest guest
Natural thyroid has 38mcg T4 and 9mcg T3, T4 is what RT3 is made from, It si unlikely that you can get rid of RT3 when you add more T4 to the mix which si why we use T3 ony;l. -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/
Guest guest
Well being its a reverse t3 problem, I would have to take iron to get ferritin levels up before starting T3? Is that correct? I have gastritis and if I go on iron would that cause more stomach pain? Is there an iron you can take that doesn't cause stomach pain? I also have constipation problems, which I never had before. Don;t know if this is a thyroid symptom or not. So if my endo says everything is "fine" when I know it isn't, where do I go from there? I just want to feel better. Maybe this is why my anxiety has been around for 6 years? I lost so much of my life cause of the anxiety (which led to agoraphobic), and the tiredness and muscle pain on top of it. Guest guest
do you know how much of that 38 mcg of T4 converts to FT3 in a healthy person with no RT3 problem? Guest guest
ALmost all of it. But if you have any kind of RT3 problem it promotes itself. It causes the conversion to moreRT3 to be favored over conversion to T3. -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/

Guest guest
Many " functional medicine " doctors have at the very least been trained to identify thyroid problems with all the right tests, so if you look for " functional medicine " or " holistic " doctors you might find a person more likely to help you with the right tests to request and more willing to treat you with NDT and also open to your questions and/or willing to learn from you. However, that said my experience with a functional medicine doctor has taught me that no matter how good your doctor is you must educate yourself, take responsibility for your own health and possibly order your own saliva and blood tests online. You have to dedicate a lot of time to reading these posts, reading Janie Bowthorpe's book, Stop the Thyroid Madness, reading and researching. I wish you all the best on your journey. > > MYSELF! I read Janie's book and had my own blood work done at a local lab. I then took my results to a Naturalpath.
