Guest guest
Hi , I like to source quality supplements, so that's why I've gone into probably too much detail with this Serrapeptase thing. The brand of Serrapeptase I use is called SP-Zyme by Nutritional Focus, an American product. I was buying it from a guy in Queensland who imported it in in partnership with his naturopath friend, but now he tells me that he is giving up due to TGA problems - you guessed right ! So now I'll have to order it in from the US. If you are looking for a quality product, I personally think it is the best brand of Serrapeptase on the market, for a couple of reasons : 1. The lady who imported it in to Australia is a naturopath in Canberra, and she researched many brands of Serrapeptase before deciding on SP-Zyme. I guess I'm relying on her professional judgement in this instance. She said that SP-Zyme was the one professionals use in the USA, and was the purest. 2. There's a lot of different Serrapeptase products, and I've tried a couple of different brands, as follows : One was from www.GoodHealthOz.com which is shipped from England ; Another one I tried is called Doctor's Best shipped from the USA. Both these products worked for me. However, after I tried the SP-Zyme, I was amazed at the comparative potency. There was no comparison with the other brands - I had to take up to double the amount of the others to get the same result with SP-Zyme. It made me wonder what fillers they put in them. The size of the capsules in the other brands was much larger than SP-Zyme which is small and compact. The last thing you need when you have an auto-immune condition is to ingest unnecessary chemicals which are added into your supplements. The bottom line is that the other brands may be cheap, but they are full of fillers? and you have to take more to get the same result. Also, if you have a lot of swelling, you can take up to 24 capsules in one hit - I do it and I'm still alive, even though the recommended amount is only 2-6 capsules. My local herbalist says it's drano for the body !! What I do now, is wait until the swelling gets to be too much, and take a big dose to reduce it straight away. I'm sure it saves me having to go and get my joints syringed by a doctor. Other people might do well by taking a few capsules on a daily basis. What I'm saying is that you can experiment with it since it's pretty safe stuff. The trick is to take it on a completely empty stomach with a huge glass of water, because it's enterically coated and you don't want it to stay in the stomach and get eaten by the acid before it can get into the lower intestine. I'm now going to find a supplier in the US who can ship SP-Zyme over to me. I'll let you know what I come up with. Sorry, this email got a bit long... I am a bit of a control freak with some things. And by the way, if anyone can find a better brand of Serrapeptase for a good price, let me know, as I'm sure it exists somewhere out there.
