Guest guest
Kate I haven't seen any really success with this and I personally tried several differnt combos of T3 with natural and natural thyroid alone for over 15 years. There must be a cause somewhere though and I owuld look deeper into low iron wiht a full iron panel before writing it off as a possible cause. With your fluctuating cortilsl levels have you tried adaptogens? -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/

Guest guest
Val, Thanks for your reply. I believe the cause was from a cortisone shot I got 2 years ago for shoulder injury that went systemic, and i ended up in the hospital. Had high cortisol serum levels for about 9 months which must have caused the RT3 problem, and it made my thyroid so unstable (which had always been stable before) and I have never been the same since that shot. My temps are really low, even with the good thyroid labs that I posted (excluding the RT3) That's why I was encouraged when reading that some people reduced their RT3 by just fixing their adrenals or switching to natural T. But you haven't seen that happen. I don't know where to find a doctor who can deal with this---awfully expensive to go to Holtorf clinic out in CA. I am near Colorado and there is Dr. Lowe, but I don't know if he can actually prescribe T3 meds (he's not an actual MD). I guess I'll call tomorrow and see. I have not tried the adaptogens, would that be a better way to go than Isocort and DHEA? And do you recommend one that you've had success with? Thanks again, Warmly, Kate > > Kate I haven't seen any really success with this and I personally tried > several differnt combos of T3 with natural and natural thyroid alone for > over 15 years. Guest guest
Val, I HAVE been having regular cortisol tests (saliva) and that is what is confusing. For a while they were low in the a.m., normal in the middle of the day, and high at night (had insomnia). Now, they are HIGH in the a.m and LOW in the evening (no more insomnia). Cortisol test from two weeks ago: Morning---14.9 (3.7-9.5) H evening----.2 (.4--1) L no more insomnia Since my DHEA just came up to normal levels with this last test, someone suggested my adrenals are starting to repair, but just still a little unstable. ???? Should I wait a see if they stabilize more in the next month before trying any thyroid tweaking? Or are they not so weak that I could try adding a little natural thyroid with my synthroid---to experiment until I can find a doctor who will do T3? Thanks for your advice > > Before doign ANYTHING wiht adrenals you need an upto date saliva > cortisol test. high and low cortils can have the same symptoms or so > similar that it is impossible to tell the differnce.
