Dear

Thank you so much for sharing that about your hair. I am very interested to know

more about your RA journey and your 10 years on MTX if there is anyway you could

post that quickly. I tried Antx therapy first but Minocin was withdrawn from the

market and I went on a generic and the RA hit me with a vengence so to stop

damage to my knee, I went onto MTX and now take Sulfasalazine as well. Any

comments, please.

Ken.

I have scleroderma and have never taken methotrexate, yet I also suffered severe

hair loss.  When I went on A/P (Minocin only) for the two years, my hair seemed

to grow back to a nice thick full mane.  Then I went on Marshall and now my hair

is thin again.  The difference with Marshall and plain A/P is that I had to cut

back on the dosage of Minocin in order to introduce the other two or three

antibiotics.  After I finish phase 3, I will probably stay on a maintenance dose

of antibiotics and see if my hair grows back.  I agree, hair loss is as

traumatic, if not more so than being sick and dysfunctional.  It is part of this

whole package and I blame the bacteria, fungus and viruses that are making us

sick although a combination of medications and treatment may also have some form

of blame.  More studies need to be done.  Dolores & Mike
