Guest guest
My mother has Nodules on her thyroid, about 20 years ago they were biopsied and she was declared OK. The Dr then put her on a thyroid med that her next Dr in a new city refused to continue. NOW she has very visible swelling of the thyroid gland.....She has low temps as well. The only test the Dr. ordered for it was the hTSH that came back at 1.52 (0.40-5.0). Dr stated all was fine with the thyroid and this was the only test necessary and considered the standard of care (ROLL EYES). My mother also is Diabetic (blood sugars 298), has Uncontrollable Yeast, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Very High Cholesterol (about 300). She had a partial hystorctomy with no hormone teatment. Also - no Ferritin count was ordered but her WBC was up at 10 with 11 being the lab high and a RBC of 4.8 with 6. being the lab high. We are in the Seattle area if anyone knows of a good Doctor that recognizes RT3 and temps as problems and will order other labs we would love to know. Guest guest
Wellthe cholesterol is a sure sign of very hypothyroid and arthritis might also be inproved wiht proper thyroid as well as Diabetes. Finding a dctor thta knows how ot treat all this si like looking for a needle in a haystack but you might start wiht the Diabetes and get her on insulin. I am betting if oyu ask most doctors for insulin wiht glucose that high they will comply. That is the MOST uurgen thting to treat, thne the thyroid if treated wiht T3 shoudl help reduce the goiter. -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/

Guest guest
I forgot to state that she is on very high doses of insulin (100cc) and still has sugars that high...Her A1C showed the 298.....She has been insulin dependent for 10 years. With sugar that high you would think she had a terrible diet BUT she has steadily improved and lost weight for the last 8 of the 10 years. In that 10 years she has aged 25 years or more mentaly and otherwise Re: Could you point me to the right board for this? Guest guest
I have heard good things about a Nurse Practitioner named in Seattle. I've never seen her, so can't give any personal recommendation, but here's her website: http://npjulie.com/ Apparently, she does understand thyroid and adrenals and will prescribe T3 only for RT3 issues. I see her website says she prescribes SRT3, but I believe she will prescribe regular T3 upon request. But I would call first and talk with her to be sure since I can't speak from personal experience. ka > > My mother has Nodules on her thyroid, about 20 years ago they were biopsied and she was declared OK.
