Val's probably in overload on the Adrenals group which I think has reopened today Generally these look reasonable but slightly hypo. That FT3 could be higher still and this might bring temperatures up a little. Generally on T3 only people feel best at top of range or a little over. Now your temperatures are stable then hopefully you can edge back up on the T3 and find the optimum for you. Now T4 is down to low levels you will stabilize after a small dose change in 3 days. Guest guest
Thanks, Nick I was told to get an iron panel since I need so much HC and can't get my temps up. I really want to know if the iron is okay, and why my T3 fell even though I am taking more. Heidi Ferritin 165 TIBC 312 (25-450) % saturation 45 (15-50) iron 140 30-160 no iron supplements for 6 days prior FT4 .22 (.61-1.27) TSH .02 (.4-4.6) FT3 3.84 (2.4-4.2) (on 92.75 mcg cynomel) (was 4.21 in Feb when I was on 75 mcg. cynomel) sodium 142 (135-145) Potassium 4.2 (3.5-5.2) I am on one tab of Florinef. Guest guest
Your iron looks good the only two reasons for lwoer T3 is one: Poor absorbtion, or Twpo better utilization. Are your temps better or worse? Better means more utilization, and lower temps mean poor absorbtion. Guest guest
Hmm, interesting. I let the cynomel dissolve in my mouth. Any chance the receptors under the tongue are shutting down from doing this four times a day for months? I'm going to start swallowing it and see what happens. I have been taking only one tab of iron, and that well away from my T3 doses. Last time my temps were stable was a couple of months ago at 98 degrees, while on 75 mcg T3 and 42.5 HC. Now they are stable again at 98 degrees on 93 mcg T3 and 42.5 HC, but my lab work was lower. In the meantime I tried raising T3 as high as 125, and got unstable, and tried lowering HC--got down to 37.5 and felt awful. So here I am again at 98 degrees. At least I feel better than I did last year, but I'd like to get the rest of the way to optimizing my thyroid. Thanks, Val, I appreciate you being here for us.
