Actually, a person on another list (Live-Food) bikes alot. She used

to require water throughout her rides (as did her fellow riders). She

now is able to maintain hydration and electolytes drinking raw milk

before, a little during, and after. The total volume is much less

than water alone. She also seems to sweat less. Needless to say, her

friends think she's nuts. :)

I'll second that. When I was on a raw milk and fruit (very little fruit)

diet back in college I discovered to my surprise I didn't need water to

stay hydrated even though I was heavily involved in sports. I also

maintained my energy and strength with what was essentially fairly low

starchy carbs. At that point I chucked the whole high carb approach for

athletes. The naive vegetarian website listed on the WAP site has a good

article about what is the best sports diet.
