The total volume is much less than water alone. She also seems to sweat less. Needless to say, her friends think she's nuts. Portland, OR I'll second that. When I was on a raw milk and fruit (very little fruit) diet back in college I discovered to my surprise I didn't need water to stay hydrated even though I was heavily involved in sports. I also maintained my energy and strength with what was essentially fairly low starchy carbs. At that point I chucked the whole high carb approach for athletes.
