Guest guest
I am so behind on reading all the digests, and don't have time to try wade back through and find these posts. It's possible someone else has already addressed these. Insomnia IS a hypothyroid symptom. It happens to be one of the symptoms that is still hanging on for me, but not nearly as severe as it has been most of my life. Potassium: Someone posted they were taking potassium twice a day. I do not remember the dosage, but I do remember it dinged a bell. PLEASE be very careful supplementing potassium. High potassium can STOP YOUR HEART and it can do it quickly!!! I was relieved that the poster did say they were going to have electrolytes re tested in a couple of weeks. I am an RN and know better, but I was supplementing potassium a couple of months ago based on electrolyte panel indicated potassium was a little low. I started feeling a little odd, my neck and chest would feel " full " and then I'd feel a hard heartbeat; so did the nurse thing and checked my pulse when that happened. My heart was stopping for a few seconds, no just skipping beats. I was heading for cardiac failure and I wasn't taking that much! I forced lots of fluids to help flush my system, but it frightened me. PLEASE don't assume that if you can buy something over the counter that you can take as much as you want.
