Guest guest
I've been on T3 for two months and am only up to 35 mcg/day. I think it varies widely, depending on what the person can handle. I was initially unable to take much because my ferritin was very low. I've just had a series of iron IV's and tried to start increasing slowly. However, I'm having new problems--weakness, high blood pressure, chest constriction. It may be T3, aldosterone, low potassium, something else. I had a blood test yesterday and won't know what's going on till I get the results next week, so I have to postpone increasing my T3 intake till I get those results and know what the problem is. This is all just to say that I think the amount of T3 each person can handle is an individual matter, depending very much on their biochemistry. Peggy Average T3 dose most are on? I've been off Armour for 7 weeks. I'm taking 50 mcg of cynomel. Not sure if this is enough??
Guest guest
Sandi,I am taking 75mcg. I was taking 105mg and that made my Ft3 come in at 9.1. WAY too high. I will be having another Ft3 done in the middle of April to see where I am and whether I need to reduce or go higher. I suspect I will either be staying the same or reducing.VeniziaSubject: Average T3 dose most are on?To: RT3_T3 Date: Thursday, April 1, 2010, 2:19 PM I've been off Armour for 7 weeks. Guest guest
Have you looked at Nick's dosing info: http://thyroid-rt3.com/dosing.htm I think based on the suggested dosing you could figure out about where you might be after 6-8 weeks. Like Peggy I have had to increase much slower than recommended because my adrenals have not been able to handle it. I have been on Cytomel for a couple of months and am only up to 25 mcg. I know for me it will take longer than the 12 weeks to clear the RT3, but at least I'm on my way to recovery and can already feel the difference. I think after the RT3 is cleared the amount of T3 that most people end up on is between 75 mcg and 125 mcg. --Steph > > I've been off Armour for 7 weeks. I'm taking 50 mcg of cynomel.
