Guest guest
Hey Group,I'm new here with a couple of questions. I am currently on 30mg of HC and 37.5 mcg of SRT3. I have been on the HC for a month and the SRT3 for 3 weeks. Before I got on either of them, my temps fluctuated and floated around 97.5 degrees F. Now, my temps are stable at 98.4. I plan on switching over to cytomel on Monday, and I'm hoping someone can tell me at what strength and at what dosing schedule to start at? Thanks for any info provided.-- Mike
Guest guest
Hi Mike, I was also on SRT3 for several weeks before switching to Cytomel. My experience was that they are not created equal--I wasn't able to go straight from my dose of 35 mcg SR to 35 mcg regular T3. I can't recall exactly how much I had to back down, but I think I went to 5 mcg Cytomel 4 times a day at first, so decreasing from 35 SR to 20 regular T3. Guest guest
Hi Mike, You can't really compare yourself to me--I've had all kinds of problems, because I had very low ferritin which interfered with absorbing T3. And my adrenals were toast, which also created problems. I didn't really discover how big a problem the adrenals were till after I got the iron IV's to raise my ferritin. I thought then I'd be on easy street with T3, but no, things got worse. That's when I discovered how bad the adrenals were. I'm now focusing heavily on that, and had to back my T3 intake down to 25. I hope things go better for you. Peggy Re: newbie with questions Peggy,Did you notice a difference in symptoms after switching? Thanks,Mike
Guest guest
Hi Mike, I too was on SRT3 for quite some time with no relief in my symptoms. I have been on Cytomel for about five months now and there is truly a difference in the two. I am doing so much better these days. As far as dosage goes I was taking about 125mcg of SRT3 and I have settled in at a dose of 87.5mcg of Cytomel so as Peggy says the slow release is considerably weaker. When you do decide to switch over I would go very slow with small increases especially since you are already on such a small dose. Give the new dosage of Cytomel a few days to stabilize before you increase again. Sometimes when switching to Cytomel from SRT3 the adrenals may also have to adjust. At times when I increased my T3 my temps would fall at first and you may even get a bit of an elevated pulse. Just give the body and adrenals a few days to see if they can handle the increase. They sometimes are healthy enough and your temps will slowly come back up with time. If not and your temps don't recover then you will have to back down on the T3 again until the adrenals are ready. Just a little advice from my experience. Just take it slow and easy, watch your temps and give it some time each raise. As Peggy says there a many pieces to the puzzle. Continue to support your adrenals and make sure you have checked your ferritin, B-12 and Vit D levels. These are key for some. Val is on break this week and my advice is not meant to substitute her's at all....just trying to help while she is away. She knows best and will be back this next week, if not tonight when she checks in periodically. Hope this helps some.
