Guest guest
Steve, I can't answer your question, but I hope somebody can. Because I've had the same problem and for even longer than you. "Chilled to the bone" is a good description. I wear several layers of clothing except in the hottest weather, by which I mean the temps are in the 90's. If I have to be in air-conditioning, I must have a sweater or jacket. So I can't go to the grocery store even in July without dressing as though it's November. When I get back outside, I roast in the heat, but spending any time in an air-conditioned environment without warm clothing is a prescription for turning into an iceberg, and ending up being sick for a week with a cold. As to thermal top, leggings, and hat--I have a whole dresser drawer filled with these items. I wear a hat even in the car because my head gets cold so easily. It's been a nightmare, and I've lived with it most of my adult life. It's been my hope that thyroid and adrenal treatment would resolve this. I've been in treatment for 3 months, and so far I'm worse instead of better. So you are lucky in seeing some relief of your symptoms. That seems like a good sign, saying that your body is capable of turning around. So far mine doesn't seem to be. Good luck with continued improvement. Peggy feel really great on HC now but temp average 97.0 I have had cfs/me for 20 yrs and 4 days ago started on HC 4x 2.5mg/day.i feel so much better and my body feels warm my muscle less sore. but my temp avearage is 97.0. i dont understand it. pulse average 68 bpm. am on 50mcg t4 and 12.5mcg t3.ive was slowly getting worse before hc treatment. ive had to leave places because when i start to get cold i feel chilled to the bone and need to find some external heat source to get warmed up again. this is despite wearing thermal top and leggings under my clothes and a hat on my head. ive had to leave friends houses because i can feel myself getting chilled and slowly retreating into myself because the coldness begins to consume me.has anyone got any ideas why this is?thanks in advance.steve

Guest guest
Hi Peggy, thnaks for your email. i feel better knowing its not just me withthe xtra clothes etc. ive been on HC before the dr told me some people cant take the HC. when i took it i had to lie down becuase i went red and was flushed. i had to 1/4 the tablets but eventually this reaction seemed to stop as my body got used to it. it was determined later that iwas on too much HCat lunchtime. eventually i felt i didnt need it anymore and i was right becuase when i did another free cortisol salivary test it was back to normAL.however despite trying with armour, t3 and t4 and various combi my temp still didnt rise. at my best i cant sit in the shade on a warm day. if i,m lucky i can wear shorts in the summer but need to take long trousers in my bag for later. i feel chilled going past the chilled open fridges in supermarkets. this time as well as taking the dhea i have sent out for Pregnenolone and adrenal extract. i hope they arrive soon. ive never taken preg before maybe its what i need to make the difference. its my ME consultant that got me on T4 as it was the hormone that made me feel warmer if only slightly. my gp says i'm not hypo but i happy to go along with it as he can take the blame if i have a heart attack!! am only on 50mcg T4. yrs ago afetr reading about t3 and remembering it was t3 that we prescribed for me ititially i tried it again. i had 1 weeek's supply. amazingly my body got warm iwas sweating and had to kick the covers off at night. i went to my gp and was prescribed more t3 but it stopped working. i am hopeing that when my t3 arrives maybe with this xtra adrenal hormones T3 will work and ill get better. what kind of treatment are you on Peggy? i hope it works. > > Steve, > > I can't answer your question, but I hope somebody can. Guest guest
Steve you asked: has anyone got any ideas why this is? I feel I definitely know what this is , and feeling FREEZING COLD...and how to improve it. because I've been on BOTH sides of this issue. what helped me the most..... was careful and ...very Very slow ....increases in thyroid and HC BOTH TAKEN AT THE SAME TIME OF DAY........and keeping detailed logs .....on any change in body temperature,.... heart beats per minute, ...and any other symptoms.... in this manner I also discovered ...with research...help from group monitors and members, ....that I needed more frequent doses....(now 4 x day) as well as significant but VERY tiny and slow increases in BOTH HC and thyroid. ( I never took T3) I also learned ....that when i had to breath cold or cool air, it went into my lungs and chilled the core temp rapidly..so you might want to protect core temp by covering your nose with a scarf or a mask (to re-breathe pre-warmed air that previously came from lungs for next breath) when you have to go into air conditioned store...as well as additionally protect your temp from being lowered...with hat and gloves for head and hands C.
