Guest guest
My NHS Dr and endo both discouraged me from self treating and I ended up getting worse by trying to incorporate their advice (wean off HC and lower T3, don't bother increasing ferritin past 30). It is unlikely that you will find anyone working under the NHS who will support you having supressed TSH, or using HC. Also, the T3 which is supplied on the NHS is very weak and ineffective. I have found this out as I have just moved to the US and started buying Cynomel for myself. I was prescibed NHS T3 back in the UK. Any blood tests you can get on the NHS are useful. I tended to tell Dr/endo I was self treating and agree that I should wean off/reduce meds, then not do it. It kept them at bay. But I was still influenced by them and didn't increase T3 until I moved here (in fact I am only on 62.5 Cynomel and I was on 60 of the NHS T3 but that is a big increase as Cynomel is so much stronger). I also tried to keep HC low. They are so domineering you can't help taking a little of what they say to heart.
