Guest guest
I had to increase my HC dose when I increased my T3 dose. I understand that more T3 causes the body to use more cortisol. I had a ratio of 6 when I had it measured in February. I'm finding that I feel quite sleepy or even rough when I have food, and this lasts for a couple of hours. Temps go down for a bit, then another HC brings the temps back up. Recently I find I've had to increase by HC by at least 2.5 per dose as I feel weak, and I'm losing weight. > It's very annoying, as I'm quite thin now, but don't want to start T3 treatment and end up trashing my adrenals again. > > Rod >

Guest guest
If you are eating a big meal and not little ones it can cause you to feel tired because the glucose rises and falls too quickly consuming your cortisol. Frequent smaller meals are better. How is your ferritin level? Is it recent? They can change quickly when you think they are fine. You can have good HC levels and low ferritin and it will cause your adrenals stress when increasing T3. How were your temps before you started T3? They should be stable. My RT3 ratio was 8. My HC is ~40mg a day. My ferritin dropped from 63 to 25 in two months, and discovered that was my problem because I felt so tired after a certain point of increasing T3 and finding my temps dropping. If I would of ignored the ferritin and just increased HC I think I would of being on too much HC which can also cause RT3. In time you will learn a LOT, and you will know your body and how it talks to you. I compare it to a little baby that can't talk but makes little noises, but mom is keenly aware of what they baby is wanting because she is very tuned to it. Same with your body, it talks to you and you will learn how to really listen to it. -R > > Hi, > > Just about to start my T3 treatment, and I'm finding my RT3 seems to be quite high. Guest guest
Thanks, My Ferritin last month was 157 (20 - 345) mg/mL. Temps are fairly stable but I do have this problem that meals or extra hc causes temp to decrease for a couple of hours by ~0.2'C. Also I get a husky voice and a slight sore throat, which indicates to me (?) hypo thyroid symptoms. My RT3 ratio was 6 when tested last month. My theory is that this is due to the HC blocking the conversion of T4 to T3. I was on T4 meds but have not decided (if I can clear this Rt3) to try NTH instead. B12 came in at slap bang in the middle of the range, but I can't find the numbers at the moment. Yes I am learning a lot about my body. I'll do a glucose test after a meal to se my levels, and I'll also get my Ferritin checks out again in a months time to see how it goes. I've started to split my meals into smaller portions, more frequently now as well. Appreciates the replies, day 2 of my T3 treatment. Guest guest
Hi Rod, About B12, your levels should be at least 550, and are best above 1,000.
