I wanted to ferment veggies and find more recipes for smoothies and yogurt. I've eaten yogurt (homemade) many ways and it's good but it does get old. I was wondering if you use yogurt in salad dressings. And also which recipes you use for salad dressings. The family likes most of the stuff I make but getting them to do some " processing " is one of my goals. I have so many " other " things to do. Like so many people. And I know but don't accept it to well, that willing workers, start helping, sort of a step at a time. Or maybe just a half step. Thanks for shareing. Guest guest
I use yogurt often for salad dressings. No particular recipe. Yogurt is a great way to stretch mayo with good nutrition. For example: Cabbage Salad Shredded cabbage chopped apple or pineapple tidbits 1-2 Tbsp mayo (I use fat free Miracle Whip - probably not the best, but I like the flavor and convenience) about 1/4 cup yogurt VegSalt Herb Pepper Honey to taste I do the same sort of thing with apples, celery, and walnuts Also do something similar with potato salad, omitting honey, and adding onion, celery, chopped hard boiled egg, mustard Tuna or egg salad can also include some yogurt along with mayo. On salad greens I've mixed yogurt with some herbs, salt, pepper, maybe a bit of stevia, and some olive oil, and tossed that with greens, chopped Jerusalem artichoke, dried cherries or orange pieces. Might add some frozen orange juice concentrate or cherry concentrate to the dressing for a fruity flavor.
