Guest guest
Hi Val, I wanted to check in and ask a few questions. Over the past month I've lost weight that I really can't afford to lose. I went from 125 to 115 and am eating the same amount as usual and not doing anything different physically. I've been working on getting my ferritin levels up so that I can start increasing my t3. Back in Feb. I stopped taking the t4 and started taking 5 mcg of t3. I'm taking iron tablets. I have been taking anywhere from 175-225 mg per day. In addition, I've been taking different vitamin supplements recommended by the doctor that I tested deficient in (multi vit, vit d, b vits, coq10, vit e, beta carotene). I'm also taking isocort, 5 tabs in am and 4 tabs at noon. I'm wondering if going off the t4 and adding in the isocort and the little bit of t3 could be causing the weight loss. Any thoughts? Thanks so much for your help. > > Cortisol ng/mL > > 5.3 @ 9:10 am range 7-10 Should be top of range (9-10 ideal) LOW > > 2.8 @ 1:10 pm midday range 3-6 Should also be top of range (4-6) LOW > > 2.6 @ 7:10 pm evening 2-4 Should be mid range stil a bit low but not bad > > 2.6 @ 11:59 pm night < 1.5 This one is HIGH because of being too low all day, this is hte feedback loop teling you that your corrtisol was to low all day and thus once you relax and adrenals CAN produce more there is too much ACTH present and they go too high. This will interfere with sleep and proper rest and cause the next AM levels to be too low from adrenal exhaustion overnight. > I would NOT start T3 until your Ferritin is at least 50. It is very likely to cause bad side effects if oyu try to start it too soon. And the T4 is NOT helping you atthis point, It is only creating more RT3 > > As with everything doctors see 'in range " and think you are normal. We have learned there are OPTIMAL places to be within those ranges and also in some testing (FT3 for example) the ranges are just plain wrong. > > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ >

Any thoughts? 5 of T3 is barely enough for the body to notice. Have you got recent thyroid labs?
