Guest guest
BettyV, PLEASE think about this before you go to Mexico! There's got to be a way to get this done through Dr. R or another procedure with a reputable physician in the US. I watched a program last week (sorry, can't remember which one) maybe it was 20/20 - about an American who had been injured while visiting Mexico, and he was denied medical treatment, arrested because he had caused an auto accident, and ended up dying because they waited so long before allowing him to get medical treatment. This is a major surgical procedure. I think your life is worth fighting insurance companies, discrimination, and anything or anyone else to have this surgery done correctly and by a qualified doctor!!! There are ways to fight insurance companies, you can appeal a denial as I am now, you can do as did, and have surgery, then get your lawyer involved, you can go as a self pay with the 20% discount that was offered, you can take out a loan, have a fundraiser, or do anything your imagination can help you dream up. There are ways to get this done honey, and we are all here fighting the big fight together. Don't give up the ship!! Also start firing out letters to your congressmen, senators, local officials, newspapers and anyone else who will listen. We all need to fight obesity discrimination, and if enough of us show our UNITED VOICES, they will have to listen to us sooner or later. Let me get off of my soapbox now....
