A Little Help Needed

My surgery was on 1/24/00 and I have been on liquids since that time. I ate

a soft scrambled egg for breakfast on Tuesday and it really satisfied me and

I had no complications. Liquids were for lunch and for supper I mashed up a

baked potato and put a little butter/sour cream in it for some taste. I felt

nauseous after that and the next day I had yogurt for breakfast and had to

take my elderly parents to the doctor in Raleigh so for lunch I ate the clam

chowder while they ate seafood making sure I did not eat any clams. I became

nauseous and even water made me nauseous for the rest of the day. I have

reviewed the carafate and the prilosec meds and when to take them and am

trying to get into a routine so they will do the most good. I drank Ensure

this am and while it doesn't taste the best in the world, I can drink it if I

have too. I was so hoping that at the end of 10 days I could begin to have

some substance in food. Has anyone else had this problem. Fear is beginning

to set in that I may have to stay with the liquids a long time. Help anyone.

HI Sue

Ihad my surgery (Roux N Y) on Dec 13 and have lost 47 pounds. I still have

problems with food with texture. I have been able to keep down progresso

potatoe, brocolli and cheese chowder soup and chil without eating meat. I

take flintstone chewable vitamins complete,2/day . But I use Carnation

Instant Breakfast, sugar free and cream of wheat also goes real good. I

have tolerated oatmeal once. o.k. good luck.
