Guest guest
Hi, I changed to Natural thyroid a year ago after taking Levothyroxine for 15 years and I was doing well. Then about a month ago I became hyperthyroid, it took me a while to realise this was the problem so I stopped taking NDT for a week but since then haven't been able to tolerate taking it again. So now I am back with hypo symptoms. Could this be rT3? Last September I had a Adrenal Stress Profile (Genova) and as the results indicated low adrenal function I had my GP refer me to Endo as I wanted a diagnosis from the NHS. From the synachten test he said my Adrenals were fine (no surprise there then) so now I have to decide what to do next. I have been supporting my adrenals by taking Co Q10, Ginkgo Bilbao, Vitamin C and Vitamin D3 ( D3 low on NHS test). I can't tolerate Nutri adrenal extra or Isocort so I have just order Thorne Adrenal Cortex to try. Adrenal Stress Profile Sample 1 2.6 (12-22) Sample 2 1.5 (5.0-9.0) Sample 3 2.1 (3.0-7.0) Sample 4 0.5 (1.0-3.0) Total daily cortisol 6.7 (21-41) DHEA am 0.31 in range pm 0.16 Low DHEA: Cortisol Ratio 3.51 Thyroid blood test when hyper symptoms but stoppped NDT for 24 hours TSH 0.04 (0.10-4.00 ) Free T4 12.1 (11.00-22.00) No FreeT3 even though asked for Also Blood pressure is up and if it doesn't come down soon my GP wants to treat it but I am reluctant to take medication. Blood pressure reading drops on standing by 10. Basal Temps 36.4 and pulse 74 since stopping NDT. I keep forgetting to do temps through the day. I know I need to 1.Get back on thyroid medication and have been taking a little T3 around 20mcg. 2.Address the poor adrenal function 3.Lower Blood pressure and high cholesterol. I just not sure what to do next? Will the Adrenal cortex supplement be enough or do I need to consider HC. If it could be rT3 should I start with sorting that first. I feel so ill and as my daughter is very ill ME/CFS with adrenal/ thyroid issues I want to be as well as I can. Any advice would be great.
