Hello to all

Wanted to pass on that there is a good article in this month's " Taste for

Life " circular magazine that is given out free - I pick it up at my health

food store. The topics in it are usually all things natural, organic, etc.

The article is called " Beating Candida Means Feeling Great " by Petty,

RHN, RNCP. It focuses on the intestinal and digestive track angle where

candida starts. What caught my eye was that in the second paragraph: " Also

known as yeast, candida is often a factor in both hypo- and hyperthyroidism,

as well as in adrenal gland exhaustion. " It doesn't really elaborate on the

adrenals, but this is one of the few places I've seen candida + adrenals

linked.

The article lists the usual triggers we know about; overeating, excessive

alcohol intake, diets high in processed (boxed, canned, and drive-through)

foods, pesticides and herbicides and Type 2 Diabetes. But then it adds " Even

if none of these potential triggers applies to you, good old everyday stress

can challenge digestion. A 2006 study concludes that stress is a major

factor in the development of vaginal candidiasis " .

In this article the suggestions for controlling candida include choosing

your food wisely, don't eat sugar, take Probiotics and consider another

supplement called " pre-biotics " (like FOS) and boost fiber intake by taking

psyllium to help your bowels.
