Hi Val,

Last week we figured out that I have a RT3 problem as my ratio was 12.5 and

yesterday I got my Cortisol test back. It shows me within normal range but were

as follows:

Morning: 7.9 range 3.7-9.5 ng/ml

Noon 1.2 range 1.2-3.0 ng/ml

evening .8 range .6-1.9 ng/ml

Night .4 range .4-1.0 ng/ml

Ferritin is 100 ng/ml although my neutrophils (l) and lymphocytes (h) were

slightly off.

I am currently on Iodoral. My last TSH (1/2010) was 13.2. I take 90 mg of ERFA

(60 and then 30 at noon). I know I need more thyroid but with this RT3 problem I

don't want to increase my dose at the moment.

I feel the morning cortisol is probably okay but I take a big dive at noon and

that would correlate with how I feel because late morning I often get tense or

anxious and then around 2:00 I am tired. I am thinking I may need to take Cortef

but I will wait until you open the adrenal site and present my question there.

My question at the moment is do I start treating the RT3 before I have my

adrenals functioning optimally or will treating RT3 cause my adrenals to

function better? I know what you think of Iodoral but I feel it has helped me

and my levels were low when I did the iodine loading test. However, I do wonder

if I should quit taking it for awhile and deal with the other issues? So many

questions and you have so little time but do you have any suggestions?

Kris
