I was on ferrous bisglycinate (chelated iron) 100 mg for many months.. Now my Ferritin has finally gotten a bit up there, at 73 today. It has been doubled, which is good. Hertoghe, which is my specialist, told me to start taking ferrous sulfate. 525 mg a tablet. I think this means it is about 100 mg ELEMENTAL IRON, am I right? Thus the same size I took before. Just wanted to get your opinion on this - I just wanna be sure I am taking 100, not 525 mg iron! :)And would it be cool to take this type of iron as I go to bed, as well? Do I _have_ to eat before I take this iron? Cause with chelated iron, I can take it with no food.
