Guest guest
True, Carol. BUT - having this kind of testing done pretty much rules out allergies to everything else. So, it would save one the trouble of allergy testing... Air hugs, Jackie Life is tough, but I'm tougher. ----Original Message Follows---- Reply-To: urticaria To: <urticaria > Subject: To new kid Greg Date: Thu, 13 Dec 2001 20:18:01 -0000 Hi Greg Re the autoimmune testing thing.......I had it done, years ago. They take a sample of your blood, put it in a machine, spin it for ages - then they inject it back into your arm, and later on they measure the injection site for a reaction. If there is a reaction beyond a certain diameter, they conclude you are " autoimmune " , i.e. allergic to yourself! I am. The trouble is, it really doesn't mean much more than the doctor told me I can therefore eat/drink anything I want to, as it's not an allergy to that sort of thing. That's nice, BUT. No cure or answer just because it's autoimmune, I'm afraid. You're still stuck just trying to suppress the symptoms as best you can. Best wishes, Carol _________________________________________________________________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com
