Guest guest
I know that with our ferritin level being below 70, that it makes it harder to raise the T3. My question is, should I really wait a few more months to start T3? I started a small dose the other day (6.25 at 9 am and then 1 pm). The second dose made me feel awful. So I know that probably means I should start with just the morning dose and add the second dose in 3-5 days later, depending on temps and pulse. In December my ferritin (without supplementation) was 71, and I had it re-tested last week just so I could have a starting point for iron and thyroid levels. Well, I got my ferritin back and it has gone down to 47.7, which I kind of suspected. So I have been supplementing iron for the past week. I only started with 2 Bluebonnets and also molasses. I didn't want to overdo it, because I wanted to make sure what my levels were first. With my results now, I will increase it up to 200 mg a day. I can't find Nick's website link or I would look it up. But do you think it's okay to start with a small dose of T3 along with the 150-200 mg of iron, or should I really wait until my level is higher? I didn't get my FT3 (it was on my lab request, but lab forgot it), but this is what I did get: TSH 2.67 (.4-4) FT4 .8 (.8 - 1.9) RT3 212 (90 - 350) Ferritin 47.7 (6 - 159) Transferring 252 (202 - 336) Iron Binding Capacity 315 (255 - 450) Iron 89 (28 - 170) UIBC 233 (155 - 300) TIBC 322 (183 - 470) My FT4 is low WITHOUT any thyroid medication. Does that mean anything? Or can't tell without FT3? Waiting for doctor's office to call back about the FT3 not being on the lab report.
