i also have received a absolute NO from my pcp. even after my

endocrinologist spoke with him 3x, the response was still a firm no. i know

my pcp is a really bright and talented doctor (sans a personality though)

and i trust him so i'm heeding his advice. is there anyone out there that

had to convince their own pcp to support this? i'm in oxford and if i want

this covered under the policy, i must get a referral from my pcp. also, my

main curiosity that hasn't been addressed in this chat group is what are the

long-term effects. does anyone know of someone who is post-op 3+ years? i

know it would make a huge difference in my efforts to persuade my pcp if i

could site positive long-term benefits with minimal side-effects. i think i

will also pose that question to dr. r, too. thanks for the " ear. " Vicki in
