Guest guest
Hi Val and EveryOne, Have the flu, so looked up in Jefferies book, " The Safe Uses of Cortisol " to see what he recommends. 20mg Cortef, - four times a day for a few days until the symptoms subside. Since I usually take no Cortef, use Isocort and Glandulars most of the time, I went to 10mg but then decided to go to 20mg/ three times a day and the flu seems to be on the way out. Just hoping that the swelling in my tonsils is not strep....time will tell.... I noticed that right before I came down with the flu, I felt cold a few times in the evening and thought of taking more thyroid hormone but didn't do it....wish I had....woke up last night around 5 am and had that feeling again so I took an extra grain of Armour and felt all the better for it. Perhaps the need for thyroid hormone also increases like the need for Cortisol when dealing with an infection, fever or flu? Unfortunately, the flu spreads through coughing and sneezing and people don't seem to stay home until they get over it. Wish they would!
