Guest guest
, Welcome to the group. Please remember breast cancer is NOT the sentence it was once thought to be. It sounds like your dr is on top of things which is great. Not knowing is the worst part. Feel free to post any other questions you may have. I will keep you in my prayers. Let me start from the begining... Last year in August I woke up one morning with a sharp pain in my left breast, next to my nipple in the areola part. It went away in about 3 weeks. I set an appointment up for a free mamogram but both Hurricane Katrina and Rita cancelled both appointments for me. I never made another appointment and pretty much forgot about it until this year. A few months ago I noticed that the swelling under my left armpit was getting worse. I thought it was just fat so I kept dismissing it. It kept getting bigger so I did a search on the internet and everything either brought up breast cancer or an infection. It is now the size of a golf ball and doesn't hurt. I made an appointment with the Dr. and went yesterday. He said he felt a hard mass about 5 cm behind the nipple and he could move it. It was a little tender but then again I had be repeatedly trying to feel for lumps and he was pushing in hard. The nodes are also swollen. He ordered a diagnostic, digital mamogram and ultrasound. I also have a small hard lump (unmovable) about 2 1/2 inches below my left ribcage. I forgot to ask him about it because I was shocked at the size of the lump. My family history is as follows.. My mother had a lump in her breast the half of a size of a pea...removed, 6 weeks radiation and no more since then 13 years ago. age 53 My aunt on my mothers side had intraductal cancer...masectomy and nodes removed, chemo and radiation...she is no longer alive due to suicide so I can't ask her any questions. age 42 Great aunt fathers side...type of breast cancer unsure but double masectomy ...cancer through her whole body and died from it...age 60's I turned 39 this last June. Any initial reactions from ya'll would be greatly appreciated. I am currently eating lots of peach seeds and drinking mangosteen juice.
