Guest guest
Hi Val about a year ago I was diagnosed with hypoT and I noticed that my 12 year old son had similar symptoms with a HR of 75, and the doctor put him on a trial of 15mcg Armour. His labs at the time were: FT4 - 1.4 TSH - 1.06 FT3 - 418 RT3 - 29 His eyes became much less puffy and he bacame less irritable, no constipation and never again complained of stomach aches and his HR became 80. In December 2009 his labs looked like this: TSH - 0.57 (0.50 - 4.30) Free T4 - 1.1 (0.9-1.4) Free T3 - 433 (335-480) RT3 - 26 Five weeks ago I decided to wean him off Armour because he was irritable again and I figured it wasn't working anymore and I took the Holtorf clinic quiz which said my son was unlikely to be hypothyroid according to the lab values I posted. HE'S BEEN OFF FOR 2 WEEKS AND EVERSINCE THEN HIS HR IS OVER 100-120 (when simply standing) AND FROM SIMPLY WALKING FROM THE CORNER TO THE HOUSE I CAN SEE HIS HEART BEATING THROUGH HIS SHIRT! As you can imagine I am scared and don't know whether to put him back on Armour or just wait this out. Your advice is greatly appreciated. PS I acquired tachycardia last summer WHILE I was on Armour which hasn't gone away eversince (Im now on t3), but my son became tachycardic after STOPPING Armour. Thanks - Lore
