Guest guest
Hello! Resurfacing after a long absence. It's been a little hectic, new house, a book coming out, and the latest- Lyme Disease. Ugghh. I have done phone sessions with parents before. I find it works best once we have had good face-to-face contact. Then it is a matter of hearing the new symptoms, and devising a plan for how to work on them (especially helpful for parents of young children who are acting as "co-therapists"). Insurance generally will not reimburse for phone sessions. One could bill these sessions as regular sessions, you can ask your therapist about his/hercomfort with this. I wanted to let folks know that my book, Freeing Your Child from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, a guide for parents, published by Crown Books, Random House will be available in August. The OCFoundation will be selling copies at the conference. This book is a nitty-gritty, hands-on practical guide to understanding the confusing symptoms of OCD, and step-by-step instructions for managing symptoms. It is filled with anectdotes from parents and kids from age four through college. I hope you will check it out. Best to all, Tamar Chansky, Ph.D.
Guest guest
Tamar - I will be very happy when your book comes out. I especially like resources that are focused on children. eliza in WI Re: Digest Number 565 Hello! Resurfacing after a long absence. Guest guest
Sorry, but the statement below is, simply stated, hogwash. The reasons that a fast has to be broken in a certain way is that your body, in its great wisdom, will stop manufacturing any digestive enzymes that are not being used (as you know, there are different kinds of digestive enzymes for different kinds of food, e.g. for fats, carbs, etc.). This will happen within only a few days of not eating these foods. Your body is in a kind of conservation mode, as your enzymes are not unlimited. To start the production of these enzymes again, you should eat very small amounts of the foods you have stopped eating: e.g. a spoonful of cottage cheese on day one, two spoonfuls on day two, etc. Your body will start producing the enzymes for protein digestion slowly and surely. To be sure, this is not something to fool around with. You can become very ill by breaking a juice fast with a steak!! Fasting is one of the best things you can do for your body's health. Don't let anyone tell you differently. You can fast by eating only vegetables and vegetable juices, with a small amount of fruit - extremely beneficial. You can juice fast for extended periods also. Just be sure to break your fast properly. The best to you all, and happy fasting. Thanx in advance For a coffee enema, use 3 Tablespoons of organic coffee per quart of pure water (must be filtered...you don't want to be putting chemicals and polluted tap water inside you). Do not make in a coffee maker, but use a glass pan on top of the stove, and bring to a boil for 3 minutes, then simmer for 15 min. more . Let coffee cool to comfortable temp, then strain with a cheesecloth or tea strainer. (silt is OK). Retain the enema for 15 minutes. PattyGet more from the Web. Ruminant animals carry bacteria that synthesize cobalamins in their rumen. Other vegetarian animals appear to obtain vitamin B12 from eating feces or feces-contaminated vegetable food. Guest guest
Hi All, I'd like to add to the information regarding the TAR device - Dr. Alvine's FDA approved total ankle replacement. While this is a successful resolution for some, those with an active lifestyle, who perform weight bearing exercises, who may have health considerations that would preclude - you have another option with overall satisfaction rates, better recovery times, lesser revisions - ankle allography: ankle transplants. If anyone needs more info on either options, and fusion, I have ben researching all three options for a book, serving the Hemophilia community at large.
