Nick low ferritin question

How can I explain to a friend of mine that he needs iron. He just looks at the other 2 results and says because there high he does not need to worry. Even his doc did seem worried. Plus he is on t4 only.

Iron Binding Cap (TIBC) 457ug/dL range 250-450Iron, Serum 175ug/dL range 40-155Ferritin, Serum 20 ng/mL range 22-322
